Vegas, Baby!

We headed Labor Day weekend to Las Vegas to see our amazing friends the Lee's. Elder Lee just returned from his two year mission in Japan (the guy in the suit of course in 100 degree weather). People from Cali and Utah came in to see this guy!
Here's Ed, Em, and Al chillin' and playing Sudoku.
All the girls in the house!
So they put us up at the Mirage and I have to say the rooms were amazing. It was weird at first, trekking thru the lobby with two kids. Everyone was in line for the Jet nightclub in their posh gear and we were tired and covered in spit up. Obviously we didn't get the memo. This chair was so killer.
Ok so here are a few things that dawned on me about hotel rooms. Free water in a powerful shower is amazing. The sheets are always crunchy and make noise which is weird. You can hear everything in the hallway the doors are paper thin. But only if someone drops stuff in the room on top can you hear that (thank heavens). Mini bars are freakishly expensive (3 dollars for water?). The room can never really get pitch black (always a crack of light through the blinds). The shampoos are terrible. The pillows are puffy and flat all at the same time. They never use fitted mattress sheets, they just tuck normal sheets under the bed. But my favorite is that the mirrors and lighting in the bathroom are SUPER unforgiving (hello pores!).
Yes, yes I know! He's a boy and should not be in his sisters' pink hand-me-down bibs. I'm inheriting some boy bibs within the next week or so. But I love his mini hawk and his tongue sticking out. So we deal with the bib. At least yellow is not gender specific.
We came for Ed-d but if you ask B we really came for the Dim Sum at Cathay House. If you've never had Dim Sum we really can't be friends because it has to be one of the most delicious things you've ever eaten. Hot food on carts in small portions is brilliant. The coconut buns to the left were like heaven in dough form.
Pita and I partying at Cathay House- celebrating the delicious food.
These are mini custard pastries. Another yum. Pita kept licking the tops saying, "I love it, yum, I love it!"
Here's Ammo. Don't ask, I can't even explain. But how awesome is the picture behind him too?
YeS!!! This is Xan and his GF! She's super cute, heh?
B got a new hat and whenever B gets a new hat, Pita does too.
Our silly Pita and a smile we got by default.

5 say anything:

i love it. that food does look amazing; i'm quite sure i would have also licked the tops of everything they were serving me!

and yeah, the crunchy weird hotel sheets! how do they do that? and walking through hotels at night was always a great testimony strengthener - who wants to have to strap on 6 inch heels and try and convince some beer slobbered dude to care about you for a few hours? if the church can teach me to never do that it must be true :) !!! i love vegas, though, no other place like it.
