Hawaii P4

The only thing that I wanted to do in Hawaii was find a waterfall and jump off of it. Our last day before we left we decided to venture to this hidden rope swing area. The property is technically private, yet someone has yet to be arrested for being there. The parking area for is usually is a target for break ins, as we so generously saw tons of broken window glass all around the area.

You have to walk through this amazing path that basically looks like a crazy field.
Then you come to this opening with all these fantastic rocks. Beautiful view huh? And the backgrounds' not bad either! Ha ha!
This unbelievably fantastic tree is chilling right at the base of the waterfall. Natives have constructed this amazing rope hanging off to the left and also anchored a latter on the right to get up afterwards.
B took off for the rope right away. It was amazing. I screamed the whole way down. It was amazing how your adrenaline just pushes you!
Hay even went, I was so proud of you. I told her, this might be the bravest thing I've ever done and I'm 29. Don't wait that long to do something like this! My amazing mother went too, she hurt herself on the way down which bummed me out.
You've got to check out the video of me jumping off the waterfall but I have to tell you I almost chickened out. I kept thinking of the crazy rocks and what if I hit one, blah blah. In the video you can hear B calling me a chicken and bawking at me. This is probably the gutsiest thing I've ever done (how lame huh?) I'm so proud of myself! This is us after we both jumped off the waterfall. Success!

Hawaii P3

Today Pita says to me, "Mom, I miss Hawaii, can we go again?" and once again I realize what a loser I am because I never finished my Hawaii blog and never posted my Texas blog. So here we go, the best part of Hawaii yet.

The POOL. I realized I won't go back until my kids are old enough to swim in the ocean because we can spend every day at the pool back home. B bought a water proof digital camera before we left and let me tell you, that can provide HOURS of fun!

Yes, you can be an Asian tourist under water too!
Ammon seriously dances EVERYWHERE.
Chubs was so awesome under water, he never once freaked out!
Throwing up gang signs or flipping me off, I'm not sure which.
Pita would only go under with her dad- like I'm not trustworthy or something.
Arms full.
Snorkeling at Lydegate beach (yes the peace sign up again!)
Airborn
I just love this pic cause they're so pretty, huh?

Hawaii P2

I have to say, Hawaii beaches are much prettier than Cali ones. I always feel terrible, everyone is always like "you live in Cali? You must go to the beach all the time!" And I really don't. In fact, sad to say, I haven't been once this summer.
We had pretty decent weather but most of the members of my family like to be topless (I'm not included in that.)
I love the next couple of shots cause the sky is so amazing and nowhere here does it look like that at sunset.

Only B could frown in Hawaii. =)

Hawaii P1

Ok ok so it's been a month since we went, but now that I have B's laptop quarantined with me, I can blog off what he has here. We were so lucky that my mom had to go to a Pediatrics conference in Kauai and we just had to tag along. B had never been and I think I haven't gone in twelve years or so, so we were excited. Although taking two little ones with was a new adventure.
Chubs was a TOTAL delight on the way there. Over tired and outta control. We were so lucky when he fell asleep ten minutes before we landed. BOO.
Thank heavens Pita's at the age that this is FUN for her!
We got into Hawaii pretty late so this is about as good as it gets.
Of course you gotta go to Costco and love how different the offerings are than back home. My favorite? Spam hot dogs. I couldn't justify buying a three pack so I didn't get any. I wish I did. Yum. All you skeptics, you just haven't had Spam fried rice.
We cruised a bunch of their shopping centers, this one we were at almost every day at Kauai Bakery and Cinnamons. They had the most amazing pastries. You have to get the blue book if you go, we lived out of that thing for the week, any place we went was out of there.
B wanted to rent a Jeep and drive around with the top down. One time it was pouring rain and we still left the top off.

In Today's Conversation...

I know everyone's kids say the best things- so here are Pita's two for today.

Pita (watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse)
Me (sitting down next to her to eat breakfast)
Pita "MoM! Don't sit down. Go wash dishes or something."

B and I were heading to the Stake Center to get interviews and as we are leaving she says

Pita "Be careful at church, there's a Holy Ghost!"

Language

So while it's mostly funny when Pita repeats stuff we say, it's sometimes mostly funny and somewhat concerning. I don't really know what to do, so maybe you have suggestions.

The first of many went like this.
Grandma DuLaney was visiting for a week and she was reading Twilight (which 98% of you enjoy). Pita wanted her attention and wasn't really getting it. She comes into our room and announces, "Mom! Grandma's being a jerk."
Me- "WHAt?!?!?"
Pita- "Grandma's being a jerk, she won't play with me."
Me- "She's reading just let her have some space."

Later on in the week....

Pita- "Mom! Chubas sucks."
Me- "WHAt!?!?!"
Pita- "He took my stuff."
Me- "That's not nice to say. Let's try and share."
Pita- "It's not nice to take my stuff so he sucks."

And even later....

I was clearing up her whirlwind of toys she scatters around the house.
Pita- "MOM! WHAT THE HECK? Where's my toys?"
Me- "WHAt?!?!?!"

I don't even know what to say. Part of me thinks this is funny but the other part of me is worried since she starts Preschool in October. I don't want her to be the kid with the potty mouth or the one calling the teacher a jerk.

B on the other hand has a differing set of opinions. He thinks that maybe his mom was being a jerk and yes, sometimes Chubs does suck. Now what am I supposed to do with that?!?

Open to suggestions, lemme have them.

I'm Committing

To be back with a vengeance. Well at least more than once a month which is where I've been. I don't know what happened to me, oh wait yes I do, something called Facebook happened and I feel like status updates are almost the new blog post. Thank heavens I don't Twitter or you'd never see me again.

BUT I do have excuses. Wanna hear them?
-We got a new computer and a lot of my pictures are stored somewhere else.
(Liar you've been terrible about taking new pictures)
-Our camera broke.
(Sorta liar, it did and you got a new one 3 days later)
-I've been non stop traveling.
(Silly me, I go 3 places and I think it's non stop)

The truth is, I just got plain lazy. But I promise, I'll be back with a post... as soon as B uploads my pics. Hope that's soon.

Beached

You have to give mad props to anyone that would take kids to the beach.
You have to give even more mad props to someone who would take kids to
the beach by themselves.
You have to give insane mad props to someone who would take kids to the beach
that aren't even theirs.
Mad, mad, mad props to Auntie Emy who is obviously much braver and more
awesome than I am.
We love you... thanks for the first beach day that even their mom couldn't provide!

Catty

About a month ago I came home with the kids, put Chubs down, and started getting Pita ready for her nap. I kept hearing this mewing sound and I couldn't figure out if it was the baby or what! Finally I look under my bed and there's this cat. Of course first things first I'm thinking- I hope it didn't pee under my bed cause that's gross! Then I'm thinking, how the heck did it get in here and does it want some milk? (Word to the wise, cats are not supposed to drink milk- lactose intolerant or something like that) I let it back outside cause I'm thinking that it belongs somewhere and was just enjoying my hard wood floors. It doesn not want to leave! So I call B, he comes home, and he says, well let it around and we'll figure it out.
Chubs is out of control loving the thing, chasing it everwhere (slowly since we were just beginning to walk this time) and totally in awe of this gray furry thing. Pita was SO in love. She kept wanting to carry her everywhere. I called the vets in the area and animal control to see if anyone was looking for it. No luck, so the debate began on if we were going to keep her.
She was a total house cat and we started calling her Gigi. I thought she was going to be part of the family for sure. No signs anywhere looking for her and no calls in. But it just wasn't meant to be. I think she was sick and maybe her owners couldn't afford the vet fees and let her go. I felt so bad for her. The second day she kept wandering farther and farther and I didn't know what to do. We decided to call animal control and get her taken care of.
Man she was a beaut. I looked every day those first two weeks to see if she was put on the found cats list with no luck. I'm hoping her owners claimed her, cause we would've seriously adopted her if they hadn't. I feel so bad, Pita is 2 for 2 on pets now. We just tell her Chubs can be her new one.
